The HPE MSL LTO-9 45000 FC Drive Upgrade Kit is an upgrade option for the existing HPE MSL Tape Libraries to improve the library’s current capabilities, performance, capacity, and reliability. The new drive technology is built on the latest LTO-9 Ultrium technology that allows for an increased density of storage, faster transfer rates, and higher densities of data storage than previous versions (LTO-8) or other manufacturers’ tape drives while providing enhanced performance and reliability.

This Fibre Channel (FC) drive will allow for seamless integration into an enterprise storage environment with the ability to perform high-performance backup and recovery, as well as provide the ability for backup and recovery of very large amounts of critical data. Each new LTO-9 tape cartridge has a compression capability of up to 45 TB, and the transfer speed may be up to 1,000 MB/s when compressed, which will help organizations to backup large amounts of data quickly, protect it, and preserve it for long-term use.
